Ski Mountaineering Skills
Spend 4 days on the beautiful Wapta Icefields gaining the skills necessary to begin ski mountaineering on your own. We will be using the Bow Hut as our base which offers several world class ski mountaineering objectives easily attainable in one day. Mt. Gordon, Mt. Olive and Mt. St. Nicholas to name a few.
We will cover the following topics:
- Glacier travel
- Crevasse Rescue
- Navigation with map, compass and GPS
- Trip planning
- Route Finding
- Managing overlapping avalanche and crevasse hazards
Includes: Instruction, accomodation, meals, use of technical gear
Does not include: Transportation, avalanche gear
*50% deposit due upon booking with the balance due 30 days prior to the start date of the course
